"My paintings are my language - a surreal expressive journey through inner worlds. They reveal what lies beyond the visible and echoes from within."

Fallen from the Sky, oil on canvas, 70x50 cm

Some moments arrive silently and almost go unnoticed, yet they change everything.
And then it begins:
The great fall.
It's a fall where you never know when it will end.

What once held us up is gone.
What was once certain crumbles to dust between your fingers.
With it goes innocence. A part fades away silently as if it had never existed.

The sky, once so familiar, is suddenly distant and unreachable. You don't know exactly when you took the step into the void.

The world that once supported you has vanished, along with a part of who you once were.
As one moves on cautiously, groping, the memory of the heights remains.

Not as a goal.
Not as a promise.

Only as a distant echo of a time when flying was still a matter of course.

Artist Statement

Eva Ludwig, Portrait

As a visual artist, I work in two areas: oil painting and experimental animated short films. My art explores themes that accompany us throughout our lives: Feelings, thoughts, experiences, dreams, and social and political developments.

I have been fascinated by surrealism since childhood. I find it to be the ideal form of expression for depicting these multilayered themes in a coded way.

In my paintings, I use an expressive color palette to vividly and intensely convey these themes. Through my work, I aim to encourage viewers to reflect and take them on an emotional and intellectual journey. I want to open up a dialogue about what makes us human in our society.

EXPERIMENTAL SHORTS

"My films are my visual statements to the world, addressing current social and political events in an imaginative and surreal way."

The challenges facing humanity as a whole seem to grow from year to year. Global wars and crises, natural disasters and increasing violence, especially against women, can be observed in many parts of the world. Crime is on the rise, conflicts are escalating everywhere.

As a filmmaker my  goal is to invite the viewer to engage with the issues and to focus on the fact that we as human beings are obligated to live humanity especially when we are in positions of leadership.

I use 3D animation to bring themes to life, and sometimes I add Live Action to the films. This takes the subject matter to a new level, creating a visual framework that emphasizes the story. I always produce the visuals and the music myself.
